Students live together in a family-style house with live-in resident directors. Typically there are between 3-4 students, plus the resident directors and their family. Our newest resident directors are the Powes, who moved in with their 3 children during the summer of 2004. The previous resident directors, the Hills, were with us for 7 years before they bought a home of their own in Longmeadow. Tutors conduct nightly study sessions, and meals are served family style.
It is important that the students are well supervised. An adult, either a resident director or a tutor, is expected to be home after school. Students are expected to help with chores, just as they would at home.
During the summer of 2003, the kitchen was entirely renovated. With the assistance of the Davis Foundation and the contractors, Kitchens by Chapdelaine, and due to the efforts of board member, Sandy Biron, we have a beautiful new room that is the heart of the home. We completely gutted the room and installed new appliances and a ceiling fan.
